The General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed that it will work with intense efforts, continuous coordination, and high readiness to provide a safe aviation system to ensure the safety of flights and maintain the highest levels of security in Qatari airspace, in light of the current circumstances and challenges that the region is witnessing. The Authority explained in an explanatory video clip that the specialized work teams continue to monitor air traffic movement around the clock, while enhancing coordination between the relevant authorities in the aviation sector to ensure air traffic management with high efficiency and safe continuity of operational operations.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation also indicated that the Air Traffic Management Center works in accordance with the latest advanced systems and technologies to monitor the airspace and regulate the movement of aircraft, ensuring the smoothness and safety of flights in the airspace of the State of Qatar.
The authority stressed that the safety of passengers and air crews remains a top priority, stressing the continued taking of precautionary measures and operational measures necessary to deal with various regional developments, in a way that maintains the efficiency and security of Qatari airspace. It is worth noting that the General Authority of Civil Aviation announced a partial resumption of air traffic in the State of Qatar, through designated emergency air routes with a limited capacity, in full coordination with the Qatari Armed Forces and the relevant authorities in the country. This phase includes operating a limited number of flights designated for the evacuation of passengers, in addition to operating air cargo flights, in light of the current circumstances in the region, and to ensure the continued provision of necessary air services.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation also confirmed that it continues to work with the highest levels of operational readiness, and in continuous coordination with various competent authorities in the country, in order to ensure the safety and security of travelers and workers in the civil aviation sector, and to maintain the smooth flow of air traffic in accordance with the highest international standards. The Authority is also constantly monitoring developments in the situation, and will inform the public and aviation sector partners of any developments in a timely manner.
It also recommended the importance of travelers who have confirmed reservations with airline companies following up on the latest information related to their flights, while emphasizing that the aforementioned flights do not include currently scheduled flights to and from Doha, and will resume as soon as an official announcement is issued regarding the safe reopening of airspace.
