The organizing committee of the Doha Equestrian Tours 2026 announced the resumption of the remaining rounds of the tournament by holding the Al Shaqab Cup from March 25 to 28, and the Qatar Equestrian Federation Cup from April 2 to 4, with the participation of an elite group of international riders and riders representing countries in the region, in addition to the riders of the State of Qatar, in various categories and at different heights.
The Al Shaqab Cup competitions will begin with the holding of competitions in the one-star, three-star and five-star categories, with the participation of more than 150 male and female riders, with a total prize pool of 784,000 euros for the tournament. Then the Doha rounds competitions will continue with the holding of the Qatar Equestrian Federation Cup, with the participation of more than 200 male and female riders who will compete in categories from one star to five-star, with a total prize pool of 784 thousand euros for the tournament.
The two tournaments are of special importance, as the Al Shaqab Cup and Qatar Equestrian Federation Cup competitions will include the FEI Group Seven qualifying rounds for the individual competitions.
Mr. Muhammad Jaber Al-Khayarin, Deputy Director of the Doha Equestrian Tour Championship, confirmed in statements that the preparations for the championships took place according to a precise organizational goal that takes into account the highest safety standards, as the competitions will be held within a well-organized environment in accordance with the instructions issued by the official authorities in the championship and in coordination with the partners and competent authorities, including the International Equestrian Federation, with the safety of all participants, including the participating horses, being given the utmost importance.
He highlighted that this tournament is of special importance within the season’s calendar because it allows the riders to qualify for the finals of Group Seven of the International Equestrian Federation, in addition to the fact that it will witness the continued participation of an elite group of international riders, and the continuation of competing for championship titles until the final stages of the rounds.
The British world number one, Scott Brash, leads the overall standings for the four- and five-star category with 199 points, followed by his compatriot Harry Charles second with 144 points, while the Saudi equestrian Abdullah Al Sharbatly occupies third place with 125 points, and Frenchwoman Megan Moissonnier comes in fourth place with 113 points, followed by American Eve Jobs in fifth place with 109 points.
In terms of the general standings for the star category, the lead still goes to the State of Qatar, as jockey Saad Ahmed Al Saad tops the rankings table with 75 points, followed by his compatriot Khaled Jassim Al Suwaidi in second place with 49 points, and third is jockey Hussein Saeed Haidan with 43 points, then Egyptian jockey Fatima Muhannad Al Kashawy is fourth with 34 points, then Ali Omar Al Ansari and Ghanem Nasser Al Qadi are in fifth place with 32 points. A point for each.
