Wassef Al Jaber will work at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium during the FIFA World Cup 2026™️, as part of a loan program to hold the position of Media Officer with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), where she supports the media operations of all teams participating in the matches hosted by the stadium. In addition to this role, she also assumes the duties of the media officer assigned to the Qatari national team, which contributes to ensuring that media activities related to the national team are carried out smoothly throughout the tournament.

Al Jaber’s participation comes within the framework of a program to transfer knowledge and expertise between the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), as she is one of a group of specialists in the Supreme Committee arriving to the United States of America and Canada to contribute to organizing the FIFA World Cup 2026™️ with the participation of 48 teams. The program is based on the experiences gained from Qatar’s successful hosting of major international tournaments, allowing specialists to transfer the knowledge and expertise developed in Qatar to host countries around the world.

As part of her duties, Al Jaber works closely with team officials, coaches, players, media representatives and broadcast networks, managing press conferences, coordinating media interviews, supervising the mixed media zones, and ensuring that the teams adhere to the media requirements of the tournament.

Al Jaber said: “My mission is to bring the teams to the global stage, by facilitating media access, coordinating media activities and operations, and ensuring that important moments from the tournament reach fans around the world.”

Through her responsibilities at both the stadium and team level, Al Jaber helps manage the complex media requirements associated with one of the largest sporting events in the world.

She added: “Each tournament carries its own challenges, but what distinguishes this experience is the opportunity to employ the lessons and experiences we have gained from the tournaments hosted by Qatar on a global platform of this size. This experience that we have built over the past years continues to prove its value and impact here every day.”

Although her responsibilities extend to include many teams and stakeholders, representing her country remains a source of pride for her.

Al Jaber’s journey in the field of media operations for major tournaments began in 2018, and during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️, she served as Director of Media Operations in a stadium, and contributed to organizing a tournament that received more than 17,000 media professionals from around the world. The tournament set new standards in the field of media operations, and recorded the largest media coverage in the history of the FIFA World Cup™️.

Since then, Al Jaber has continued to develop her experience by participating in a series of major international tournaments, including the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™️, the FIFA Arab Cup™️, the FIFA Confederations Cup™️, and the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™️.

Al Jaber said: “Few people have the opportunity to work in this number of major tournaments in a short period of time. Each tournament gave me a different experience, presented me with new challenges, and contributed to my development on the professional level. These experiences gave me the ability to focus and make the right decisions even in the most stressful moments, and to contribute effectively wherever needed.”

Today, Al Jaber is one of many Qatari competencies in the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy that continues to transfer the organizational expertise developed by Qatar beyond its borders, by supporting the organization of the FIFA World Cup 2026™️ and contributing to highlighting the capabilities and competencies that have been formed through Qatar’s legacy in hosting major tournaments.
