In its eighth edition… the launch of the Banks and Financial Institutions Championship

The eighth edition of the Banks and Financial Institutions Football Championship, organized by the Qatar Central Bank in cooperation with the Aspire Zone Academy, the Qatar Football Association, and Al Kass Channels, will begin this evening this evening. Its competitions will be held on the indoor field at the Aspire Zone Academy during the period from 1 to 19 September, with the participation of 32 teams representing a number of banks, institutions, insurance, banking and finance companies operating in the country.
The tournament is being held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, Governor of the Qatar Central Bank, and His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Thani, Deputy Governor of the Qatar Central Bank, within the framework of interest in sports and enhancing communication between workers in the financial and banking sector, which reflects the status that the tournament has acquired over the course of its previous editions.
The eighth edition witnessed the participation of 32 teams distributed into eight groups, with four teams in each group, after the draw ceremony resulted in balanced matches, amid great aspirations from the participating teams to achieve a strong start and compete for the title.
The lottery ceremony witnessed the presence of Saleh Salman Al-Muhannadi, Director of the Championship, Ali Al-Athba, Director of Public Relations at Qatar Central Bank, and Hussein Al-Sharshani, General Supervisor of the Championship Team, along with former Qatari national team stars Khaled Salman and Adel Khamis, who participated in the drawing of lots, as well as representatives of the participating teams.
The start of the tournament today will witness the holding of eight matches in the preliminary round (group stage), distributed across the Aspire (1) and Aspire (2) stadiums, where four matches will be held in each stadium.
The program begins at eight in the evening, when Qatar Central Bank meets Al Jazira Exchange at Aspire Stadium (1), while Qatar International Islamic Bank faces the Commercial Bank team at the same time at Aspire Stadium (2).
On Aspire (1), the Qatar Islamic Insurance Company will meet with Unimoni Exchange, while the second match brings together Doha Bank and National Bank on Aspire (2) at 8:45 pm.
The competitions continue at 9:30 pm with two matches, the first brings together Qatar Insurance and Al Fardan Exchange for Aspire (1), while Qatar Islamic Bank meets Al Mana Exchange for Aspire (2).
The first day’s matches will conclude at 10:15 pm, as MetLife Alico meets Islamic Insurance “Bimah” on Aspire (1), while the last match brings together Habib Qatar Exchange and Al Dar Money Exchange on Aspire (2).
