Today, the Ministry of Culture concluded its participation in the Moscow International Book Fair, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to highlight the Qatari cultural presence on the international scene and introduce Qatari intellectual production to a wide and diverse audience, reflecting Qatar’s position as an incubator of creativity and a center for cultural and civilizational diversity.

Mr. Jassim Ahmed Al-Buainain, Director of the Doha International Book Fair, said that the Ministry of Culture’s pavilion at the exhibition received a large audience response, as visitors expressed interest in the cultural and interactive experiences that the pavilion offered, including interactive screens that allowed them to learn about aspects of Qatari culture, in addition to the Arabic calligraphy experience, which gave visitors the opportunity to see the aesthetics of this ancient art and write their names in Arabic calligraphy.

He added that this participation provided Qatari publishing houses with an important opportunity to open new horizons for cooperation and partnership with Russian publishing houses, especially in the field of translating books from Arabic into Russian and vice versa, in addition to holding business meetings and discussing opportunities for cooperation in the fields of publishing and intellectual property rights with Russian and foreign publishing houses participating in the exhibition.

The Qatari participation comes within the framework of the Ministry of Culture’s initiatives aimed at supporting Qatari publishing houses, enhancing their presence in international forums, and opening new markets for Qatari publications, thus contributing to the development of the publishing industry in the State of Qatar and enhancing cultural communication with various countries of the world.
