The General Tax Authority attaches great importance to building effective partnerships with national educational institutions, which supports the development of training and vocational qualification programs, and consolidates its efforts in preparing specialized competencies in the tax field, through its cooperation with the Qatar Finance and Business Academy, where His Excellency Mr. Khalifa bin Jassim Al Jaham Al-Kuwari, Chairman of the General Tax Authority, and Dr. Khalifa Al-Salahi Al-Yafei, CEO of the Qatar Finance and Business Academy, signed a memorandum of cooperation, and it also cooperated with Qatar University, where Mr. Ghanem bin Khalifa Al-Attiyah, Assistant President of the Authority for Tax Affairs, and Professor Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Al-Kaabi, Executive Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, signed a memorandum of cooperation in developing the “Tax Specialist” program, which contributes to enhancing the readiness of cadres to keep pace with developments in the tax system.
This cooperation aims to expand the horizons of partnership and exchange experiences and knowledge between the Authority and academic and professional institutions, and to benefit from their potential in raising the level of professional qualification in tax specializations, thus contributing to building qualified national human capital capable of meeting the needs of the labor market and the requirements of economic development in the country.
These partnerships will enable the signatory entities to benefit from the “Tax Specialist” certificate program and contribute to its presentation and development, in a way that supports the qualification and accreditation of specialists capable of providing tax services and consultations in accordance with the rules, regulations and instructions approved by the Authority, and contributes to raising the quality of professional practices and enhancing levels of efficiency, transparency and compliance in the services provided to taxpayers.
This step comes within the authority’s intention to make the tax specialist certificate available to wider segments of those wishing to specialize and work in this field in the future. The Authority also looks forward, at a later stage, to open the field to other national educational bodies in a way that encourages Qatari youth to move towards tax professions, and meets the growing demand for specialized competencies at the Authority and various agencies and sectors in the country.
The General Tax Authority confirmed that building sustainable partnerships with educational and professional institutions represents a fundamental pillar in developing the vocational qualification system, in a way that supports keeping pace with developments in the tax field, labor market requirements, and economic development in the country.
