The Arab League confirms its support for Qatar’s bid to host the 2036 Olympics

The Arab League Council, at the ministerial level, confirmed its support for the State of Qatar’s candidacy to host the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This came in a decision issued by the 166th regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, which was held yesterday at the headquarters of the League’s General Secretariat in Cairo.
The Council explained that this comes within the framework of strengthening the Arab presence in the sports sector on the international scene, calling on Arab member states to support the candidacy of the State of Qatar to host the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games in international forums.
The Council also assigned the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States to follow up on the implementation of the resolution, stressing the importance of joint Arab coordination to support international initiatives.
