The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat) announced the new identity of the Qatar Real Estate Forum 2026 in conjunction with the completion of its preparations to launch the fourth edition of the event, which will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center during the period from 27 to 29 October, in partnership with Cityscape Qatar.
Regarding the preparations for this session, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Hassan Al-Maliki, Chairman of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, said that the Qatar Real Estate Forum in its fourth edition will be held at a stage in which the region and the world are witnessing rapid geopolitical developments that cast their shadows on various economic sectors, which adds special importance to the discussions presented by the forum about the future of the real estate sector and its ability to adapt to all developments, noting that the real estate sector has demonstrated its flexibility and ability to deal with regional geopolitical developments supported by the noticeable improvement in the business environment, investment climate, and rapid development. Real estate controls and legislation, which will reflect positively on its performance and enhance investors’ confidence in it.
The forum brings together government leaders, developers, investors, policy makers, and senior decision makers in the sector, to discuss the factors affecting the future of the real estate sector, review challenges and opportunities, and discuss practical paths that support the growth of the sector and enhance its ability to attract local and foreign investments.
The new identity of the forum represents the scene of rapid development in the structure of the real estate sector towards a more transparent and organized environment in a way that enhances the investment attractiveness of the real estate market. The forum has succeeded during the previous three editions in consolidating its position as a platform that brings together government agencies, developers, investors, experts and decision-makers to exchange experiences and visions on the most prominent developments, opportunities and challenges, and discuss policies and initiatives capable of supporting the growth and sustainability of the real estate sector. It also highlights the forum’s direction towards building a more influential dialogue and linking strategic visions with practical solutions, which contributes to developing a competitive and attractive real estate environment for local and foreign investments. In addition to promoting growth, innovation and strategic cooperation in the real estate sector, and exploring promising investment opportunities in the Qatari market.
According to data from the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice, the value of real estate sector trades increased by 5.84 percent during the first half of this year, reaching 10.69 billion riyals, compared to about 10.1 billion riyals during the same period last year. The rise in the value of trades indicates continued activity in the market and the sector’s ability to continue working despite geopolitical developments, supported by the continued implementation of development projects and the improvement of the business environment, as well as the legislative and regulatory system that aims to enhance transparency and raise levels of confidence and stability in the real estate market.
The attractiveness of real estate investment in the State of Qatar is based on a number of factors, including the stability of the economy, the development of infrastructure, and the clarity of the legislative framework regulating the ownership and use of real estate by non-Qataris. The system allows non-Qatari investors to own freehold property in a number of specific areas, in addition to the right to usufruct real estate for a period of up to 99 years in other areas. The system also includes the possibility of owning units separated into residential and commercial complexes in accordance with the applicable regulations and controls, which provides investors with various options commensurate with the nature of their investments and goals.
These developments come at a time when the real estate sector continues to play an important role in supporting economic activity and diversifying the investment base, while the forum provides a platform to discuss ways to develop the market, enhance its efficiency, and benefit from new opportunities in a way that keeps pace with the needs of investors and developers and enhances the sector’s competitiveness in the long term. It is expected that the forum’s work will focus on issues related to the future of the real estate market, including developments in the regulatory and investment environment, market trends, and the role of innovation and cooperation between the government and private sectors in supporting real estate development.
It is noteworthy that the Real Estate Regulatory Authority concluded a strategic partnership agreement with Cityscape, where the authority was represented at the signing ceremony by Mr. Mohamed Makki, Director of the Real Estate Investment Department, while it was signed by Mr. Amr Salem, Regional Director of Informa Qatar, from Cityscape Exhibition. The partnership (Real Estate) and Cityscape Qatar Exhibition reflects the ongoing cooperation that aims primarily to enhance the real estate investment environment in the country, support governance and transparency, and attract capital through organizing joint events and platforms.
