The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Qatar Railways Company (Rail), and Mowasalat Company (Karwa), is participating in the fifteenth session of the International Trade Exhibition and Conference for Transport Technology InnoTrans 2026, whose activities began in Berlin and will continue until September 25th.
Over the course of four days, the exhibition provides a global platform to explore and display the latest innovations in the fields of railway technology, infrastructure, public transport, interior designs and equipment for means of transportation, tunnel construction, and smart mobility solutions. It also represents an opportunity to communicate with experts and specialists and learn about modern trends and technologies that contribute to shaping the future of the transportation sector.
The Ministry is participating in partnership with (Rail) and (Karwa) in this global event through a joint pavilion that highlights the most prominent projects, initiatives and strategies implemented by the State of Qatar in the areas of smart and sustainable transport, most notably the Ministry of Transport’s strategy 2025-2030, which aims to develop an integrated, safe, flexible and sustainable transport system, in a way that supports economic growth, improves the quality of services, enhances sustainability and flexibility and develops human competencies, and in line with the third national development strategy and the Qatar Vision. National 2030.
The pavilion also reviews the Ministry of Transportation’s strategy for self-driving vehicles and the successful experiments of the first operational phase of self-driving electric taxis (Robotaxi), which achieved a success rate of 94% of test trips without human intervention, as part of the country’s trend towards employing the latest technologies and smart solutions in the transportation system.
The participation also highlights the State of Qatar’s efforts to transition to fully electric public buses by 2030, and the public bus infrastructure program supporting this transformation, as well as the comprehensive plan for public transport in the State of Qatar and its role in enhancing the integration of means of transportation, reducing dependence on private vehicles, reducing emissions and improving the quality of life.
On the sidelines of participating in the first day of the event, the Ministry’s delegation held a meeting with the German company Siemens Mobility, during which ways of joint cooperation in the fields of smart and sustainable transportation solutions and transportation infrastructure were discussed. The delegation also held a meeting with the Japanese company Hitachi to discuss areas of cooperation and exchange of experiences in the transportation sector and related technologies.
The State of Qatar’s participation in the Inno Trans 2026 exhibition comes within the framework of strengthening its presence in the global smart and sustainable transportation system, and keeping pace with the latest technical developments in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
