Yesterday, His Excellency Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, Governor of the Qatar Central Bank, met with His Excellency Mr. Abdul Rashid Ghafoor, Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia (Bank Negara Malaysia), on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group for the year 2026, which will be held in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand, during the period from October 12 to 18, 2026.
During the meeting, the most prominent bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries in the financial and banking fields and ways to enhance them were reviewed.
The Governor of the Qatar Central Bank and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Investment Authority also met with Mr. Iqbal Khan, Co-Chairman of Global Wealth Management, Head of the Asia Pacific Region and Member of the Executive Board of UBS Bank, on the sidelines of the meetings. During the meeting, the most prominent global financial and investment developments and related topics were reviewed.
