With the start of the major races approaching at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club, the club organized yesterday the eleventh horse race, “The Derby Trial Race,” on the Al-Oqda grass track, through 8 rounds characterized by excitement and strength, as 7 rounds were held for cups, and Jiyad Wadhanan Racing took control of 3 rounds. in the race, confirming its great superiority with the different categories of horses participating in these races, and the winners of the cup races were crowned. The eighth main race was allocated to the experimental derby for purebred hybrid horses, 3 years, 2100 m. In it, Wathnan Racing was not satisfied with two wins in the race, adding the third with the victory of the colt Super Cold worth this race in his first participation in Qatar.
In addition to the main round, 7 other rounds were held, and in the first round, the first place was taken by the horse Glitterati, king of 51 East Racing. In the second half, the lead was given to the filly AJS Najma Malak, produced by Al-Jiryan Stud. In the third half, the colt War Boy Sha’ara Wadhanan Racing won first place after giving a very strong performance in the last stages of the half.
In the fourth round, Wadhanan Racing returned to the winners’ arena by achieving the second consecutive victory in the race through the filly Devana Shika. In the fifth round, the filly “Warming” achieved her first victory with a great victory to claim the Oaks title under the banner of owner Khaled bin Ghanem bin Mohammed Rabia Al Kuwari. In the sixth round, the colt Aaid Al Shahaniya, owned and produced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, won first place. He presented a wonderful performance and ability to increase his speed in the last 100 metres, surpassing his competitors well deservedly. In the “penultimate” half of the race, the colt “Afjan” Malak, produced by Al Shaqab Racing, won the lead.
