As 2024 draws to a close and the AFC Championships take a break, it is time to reflect on what has been a very busy, but successful year for football across the continent. The Asian Football Confederation praised the 2023 Asian Championship, which was held in Doha last January and February and ended with our team winning the title for the second time in its history. The Asian Football Confederation shed light on the tournament from its opening match until the final in a report on the most important tournaments held in 2024. The Asian Football Confederation considered that the Asian Cup Qatar 2023 is the most successful edition ever, as the Qatar national team was crowned champion of the second edition on respectively, while the Jordanian national team reached the final for the first time in its history. The list of 24 teams included seven former champions.
