His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal Al Thani, CEO of the Qatar Free Zones Authority, confirmed that the celebration of the State’s National Day commemorates the founding of the modern State of Qatar at the hands of the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani (may God rest his soul), which constituted a landmark moment. His Excellency said, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the National Day of the State, that this day is an annual occasion to consolidate the values of solidarity, pride and loyalty to the homeland and to the wise leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the country (may God protect him).
He added that the founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, “may God Almighty have mercy on him,” laid the foundations of the modern State of Qatar and paved the way for its rise, a unified, independent state capable of overcoming difficulties and seizing opportunities, to achieve growth and well-being for its people, which was achieved under the wise leadership of His Highness. He continued: “This day carries deep symbolism for all the Qatari people. By commemorating it, our people affirm their firm belief in the values of loyalty, unity, solidarity, and pride in national identity. Regarding working to achieve the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, His Excellency stressed that the efforts of the Free Zones Authority are focused on supporting government work in its various sectors, adding, “Our primary role revolves around strengthening the position of the State of Qatar as a global center for logistics services by continuing to build on the factor of the strategic location that it enjoys.” Free zones in Qatar and support them with smart infrastructure, high-speed Internet, and competent and experienced personnel, in addition to intensifying coordination with the relevant authorities in the country to simplify customs clearance procedures, to encourage major companies. Shipping and Logistics Services in the World announced the opening of its regional centers in Qatar.
