German Style Book magazine reported that thyroid disorder may deprive women of childbearing,; Since it has a negative impact on fertility.
The magazine explained on its website that the thyroid gland in the neck controls many processes in the body and has a direct effect on fertility, noting that both hyperactivity and lack of activity can lead to an imbalance in the hormonal balance, which negatively affects the maturity of the egg, and that the lack of adequate control of the thyroid gland can increase the risk of miscarriage.
The magazine added that the central hormone in this context is the hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland (TSH), which stimulates the thyroid gland to produce hormones. If the value of this hormone is high, this indicates the slowdown of the thyroid gland, and the production of important hormones such as “thyroxine” (T4) and “triogroatonine” (T3) may be insufficient. If the value is very low, the thyroid gland works with hyperactivity. In both cases, fertility may be negatively affected.
Symptoms of disorder
Thyroid insufficiency is often manifested in lethargy, fatigue, weight gain, nail splitting and dry skin, while symptoms of hyperthyroidism are anxiety, rapid heartbeat and sleep disturbances.
When noticing these symptoms or when facing pregnancy problems, then a thyroid gland examination should be performed, knowing that the body’s supply of hormones is well not only contributes to improving fertility, but also works to support a healthy pregnancy.
Book indicated that during pregnancy, the need for thyroid hormones increases significantly, given that they are necessary for the growth of the child’s brain and nervous system, warning that insufficient care can have severe consequences, whether for a pregnant mother or the child.
A woman, who is already taking a drug to treat thyroid disorder, must consult a doctor to see if this medicine is allowed during pregnancy as well, because in the case of hyperplasia, there are effective substances that can be harmful to the fetus.
