The organizing committee of the Captain Saeed Al -Misnad Al -Ramadan Football Championship announced today the draw for the second edition that will start tomorrow / Monday / and will continue until the 12th of this month, under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and in cooperation with the Qatar Football Association, the Aspire Zone Foundation, the Qatar Sports Federation of Police and Al -Khor Club, and it will be hosted by the external stadiums in Al -Bayt Stadium in Al -Khor City.
This came during a press conference held in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Mubarak Al -Muhannadi, CEO of the tournament and a member of the Committee of the Old Players of the Qatar Football Association, and a number of representatives of the participating teams.
The 12 teams participating in the championship were distributed to three groups, the first group included teams: Youth of ammunition, Umm Al -Skab, Wathour Barzan, and Umm Al -Ala ‘, while the second group included teams: Al -Khor, Al -Wakra, Al -Taawun, Al -Ghawariya, and the third group included teams: Captain, Khalifa City, Halal, and Qurain.
The first round takes place in the same stage system, and then the first and the second ascends and the best two teams occupy the third place in the three groups of the quarter -finals.
Umm Al -Jamjam team will face its youth counterpart in the opening match tomorrow /Monday, while the Barzan Falcons will play with the mother of the snakes, and Al -Khor will meet Al -Wakra in the first group competitions.
The next day, the Captain team plays with the city of Khalifa, while the villages meet with Haloul and Al -Ghawariya with cooperation.
According to the championship regulations, each team consists of 12 players, 6 of whom go to the field, and set the match time with 40 minutes during the first round matches, and 50 minutes in the exclusionary roles, and the matches will lead a number of referees accredited to the Qatar Football Association.
Group and individual prizes have been monitored, where the hero will receive 30 thousand Qatari riyals, while the second -placed owner will receive an amount of 20 thousand riyals, and prizes will be awarded for the best player in the championship, scorer and best goalkeeper.
Mr. Mohamed Mubarak Al -Muhannadi, CEO of the tournament, expressed his great hope that the tournament will appear at a distinguished technical level, wishing success to all the participating teams.
He explained that the tournament is a wonderful initiative from the Qatari organizers and the Qatari Sports Federation, and it is a loyal touch towards the late Captain Saeed Al -Misnad and in honor of his great career, during which he presented a lot of Qatari football.
At the end of his statements, the CEO of the tournament praised the efforts of all partners and sponsors and their keenness to organize the tournament, as well as the Qatar Football Association, the Qatar Sports Federation for the police and Al -Khor Club.
It is noteworthy that the career of Captain Saeed Al -Misnad spanned about 40 years, and he had clear contributions to many of the achievements of Qatar football at the training level, after he led the Qatari team to win the title of Asian Games / Asiad 2006 / in Doha, and he also contributed to crowning the Arab Gulf Cup 3 times in 1992, 2004 and 2014, as well as the International Friendship Championship in 2018.
His career started as a coach to work as an assistant with the famous Brazilian coach Everesto de Masido, after which he contributed to leading the junior team to the U -17 World Cup in 1985 in China and 1999 in New Zealand. He continued his career as a technical advisor to the Qatari teams, and he became one of the shareholders with his imprint in completing the crowning of the first team with the 2019 Asian Football Cup.
