This achievement also comes as a last stage of the transformation march that the airport started in 2022 with the opening of “Ortshar”, which is the inner tropical park that extends over an area of ​​6 thousand square meters. The area of ​​the airport building is now 845 thousand square meters – an increase of 14%, while the total number of climbing gates to the plane reached 62 after adding 17 new gates, an increase of 40%, which achieves higher levels of connection between trips and supports the flow of operational operations and leads to a noticeable reduction in the use of buses in transporting passengers.

Al -Khater touched that since the opening of the airport in 2014, the number of aviation partners has doubled from 28 companies to 55 companies, making it one of the largest centers of the “One World” coalition in the world, and the airport also received 7 new airlines during the past year, including Jaruda, Chensin, and Japan Airlines, in addition to the joining of Oman Air to the “One World” alliance next June.
Al -Khater also pointed out that the Qatari free market includes more than 200 global stores and restaurants, ensuring a variety of options that suit all tastes in addition to the airport market that reflects the authentic Qatar character.
