Local markets have witnessed an increasing purchasing movement during preparation for the blessed Eid Al -Fitr, and the movement reached its climax during the past few days with an increase in the volume of sales in commercial complexes and major hypermarkets that approach 100 % compared to its natural rates, and sales focused on basic commodities, food and consumer products, especially meat, fish, vegetables, clothes, nuts, sweets, and others.
Consumers assured the “Arabs” the availability of all the basic commodities that the citizen and the resident need in the markets, in addition to the non -food commodities that families need such as clothes and home accessories with clear stability in prices despite the great demand, praising at the same time the hypermarkets and commercial complexes to secure large quantities of different commodities in a way that meets the needs of the local market and the great demand during the Eid period.
They pointed to the availability of food commodities and various local agricultural products with high quality in the markets in sufficient quantities, especially from strategic commodities such as vegetables, meat, fresh poultry and fish, in addition to dairy, oils, home supplies, and others.
Inventory increased
For their part, merchants and managers of commercial complexes said that the Ministry of Trade and Industry was keen to increase the stock of basic food and consumer goods in the local market, which made the strategic stock at distinct proportions as a result of continuous communication between the public and private sectors, in addition to the hard work to maintain the continued flow of food and consumer goods to local markets.
They pointed out that there is a clear diversity in the local market of existing goods and products, which allows the consumer to choose what suits him in terms of prices and quality, noting that there is a clear competition between commercial complexes through discounts and offers to attract the largest possible amount of buyers.

They pointed out that most of the hypermarkets have a diversification in supply chains, as they are imported from various markets around the world and provide continuous supplies for all consumer needs in Qatar while adhering to the highest quality standards.
The turnout is doubled
In response to a question to “Al -Arab” about the volume of demand from consumers to shop, they said that the demand has doubled during the past days compared to its normal rates. They pointed out that the prices of candy and chocolate start from 30 riyals to 150 riyals per kilo, due to the components used in their manufacturing, as well as quality and method of packaging, while the nuts range from 40 riyals to 110 riyals per kilo according to the size, quality and the country of origin, where the price of the mixed nuts ranges between 40 to 70 riyals per kilo, and the price of pistachios is between 50 to 70 riyals per kilo, depending on size, The price of almonds is between 40 to 60 riyals per kilo, and the price of cashew is between 45 to 60 riyals per kilo, depending on the size and the country of origin.
Eid’s holiday exhibition
In a related context, the “Eid Al -Eid” exhibition witnessed in its first edition, which was organized by the Celebrations Committee of the Engineering Office for the Eastern Square of the Waqif Market with the participation of 40 local and international companies with great demand, as companies from Turkey, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Tunisia and Yemen reviewed, the characteristic of each of the different types of sweets, nuts and light foods that are served on the feast.
The exhibition also participated in the exhibition, 30 local companies, which offered the known types of sweets such as the Qatari rash, as well as other traditional types such as Al -Khabes and others.
The efforts of the Ministry of Commerce
As part of its efforts to control the market in preparation for Eid Al -Fitr, the Ministry of Trade and Industry carried out inspection campaigns during the past weeks on a number of commercial centers in different regions of the country, with the aim of monitoring the extent of adhering to law No. (8) of 2008 regarding consumer protection.
The Ministry also stressed its continued endeavor to ensure consumer rights and enhance their awareness about the products and services provided to them, as it reviewed a set of advice to enhance smart shopping skills for consumers and introduce them to the ways of prior planning for purchases, and to develop a list of the needs that the family wants while adhering to it, in addition to choosing the time of shopping.
It also urged the consumers to follow the daily promotional offers through newspapers and advertisements, and to see the reduced consumer goods issued by the sales centers and choose the most appropriate ones.
