Researchers stated that the new federal data in the United States shows an increase in the average autism rate, but they added that the causes and symptoms are more complicated than just numbers.

Data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States on its website on April 14th showed the increase in the rate of autism throughout the country from one child in every 36 children to one in every 31 children, so how did the specialists explain this increase according to what was reported by the American news magazine?

Improve awareness and diagnostic methods

Jurgen Han, a member of the Scientific Consultative Council of the United States of Autism Research Institute, Professor and Head of Biomedical Engineering Department at the Renzelar Polytechnic Institute, believes that new data is not surprising, and indicates continuous trends over the years.

When asked about the reason for these increases, he said, “We know that the numbers are rising, but we do not know exactly the reason for their height, for example, in one study if complications increased during pregnancy, the risk of a child’s injury increases, but not to the extent that explains the cause of the total high rate.”

Roma Fasa, director of psychological services at the Autism, Science and Innovation Services Center at the Kennedy Crager Institute in the United States, said that the spread of spread is important because it helps researchers understand the trends of autism diagnosis.

“This increased rate is driven by several factors, including improving awareness of autism between doctors, parents, teachers and other professionals, improving access to examination and evaluation, and expanding the criteria for diagnosing autism,” she said.

Other factors we do not know

Nigel Niopot, assistant professor in advanced learning techniques at the University of Florida in the United States, shared this opinion, saying that, as a society we understand and know much more than we knew in the past.

There are other impressive factors, but the concerned authorities – including public doctors, educational institutions and parents – can monitor potential early signs of autism, and all of this helps in reaching early diagnoses.

As for Robert Mililo, a neuroscientist and expert in the field of brain disorders associated with the brain, he stated that increasing awareness does not fully explain these high rates.

“At best, 50% of the increase can only be explained by improving estimate, this means that at least 50% have no explanation, if you speak to any person in the field of education and health care, you will find that the increase in the number of children with all disabilities is clear,” Mililo added.
