In the context of the preparations of the State of Qatar to host the 2027 basketball World Cup, the Qatar Basketball Federation is organizing the “Lusail 3 x 3 Challenger International” championship, under the supervision of the International Basketball Federation “Fiba” and in cooperation with the Qatar Diar Company, which will be held on the second and third of May 2025 in the “Saad Square in the Path of Lusail”, which is one of the most prominent modern civilizational and cultural landmarks in Qatar.
The Organizing Committee of the Basketball World Cup «Qatar 2027» announced this championship earlier by concluding a strategic cooperation agreement that brought it together with the Qatar Basketball Federation.
This tournament is also part of the champion of “Challenger” championships supervised by the International Basketball Federation, and is considered an important global sporting event.
The “Lusail 3 x 3 Challenger International” championship brings together a group of global basketball teams in the 3 x 3 game, including prominent global and Qatari teams, in which “16 teams” are participating, namely: “Toulouse” from France, “Lyman” and “Partisan” from Serbia, and “Carolina” from Puerto Rico, and “New York Harlem” from the United States of America, and “Logano” from Switzerland, “Candava” from Latvia, “County” from Lithuania, “Marbella” from Spain, “Kigali” from Rwanda, and “Nishinomia” from Japan, and in addition to Qatari teams: “Al -Wakra, Al Rayyan, Al Gharafa, Creek, and Doha.”
