Today, users of the Microsoft Outlook email service are facing new problems in the second service disruption in less than 24 hours, amid continuing authentication, connection, and search problems in some Microsoft 365 services.
Hundreds of users in the United States and other countries reported problems with Outlook and Microsoft 365 services, according to DownDetector, an outage tracking platform.
Problems included sending and receiving emails, opening inboxes, searching for messages, as well as difficulties logging in and connecting.
According to Down Detector, problems with receiving messages accounted for 39 percent of reports, compared to 24 percent for login problems and 22 percent for problems with the Outlook application.
The official Microsoft 365 service status page shows a service deterioration in some Microsoft 365 services, while Microsoft said it is continuing to repair the authentication component of the affected infrastructure, while monitoring the return of authentication, communication, and search services to their expected levels.
Microsoft experienced a widespread outage on Monday that affected Outlook and other services, and later confirmed that the problem was linked to basic authentication settings that affected a number of Microsoft 365 services.
