The medical coordinator of the Qatari Red Crescent, Dr. Hassan Al -Qassoum, stated in a statement to the Syrian News Agency (SANA) that the delegation includes Consultant specialists in the field of catheter in adults and children, and it is planned to carry out 80 heart catheterization operations, and to treat heart abnormalities in children free To provide hospitals with the necessary medical supplies to conduct catheter operations, in cooperation with the Syrian Ministry of Health And the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
Al -Qassoum explained that the conduct of operations will be during the period from 22 to 27 of this month at the Center for University Cardiology and Surgery (Cardiac Catheter operations), and the Damascus Center for Heart Diseases and Surgery in the Dummer area in Damascus (heart catheterization operations for adults).
In turn, the Director of Damascus Health, Dr. Mohamed Akram Maatouk, pointed out, in a statement to SANA, that the delegation is made up of the most efficient doctors of heart disease and surgery, and will contribute to alleviating the burdens and reducing patient waiting by conducting many operations for free in the first stage that will be followed by another stage. Until the corruption that prevailed during the prevailing regime’s rule caused the country’s health system to be worn out.
