A Qatari trade mission explores investment opportunities in Oman

“Qatar Exports”, the export arm of Qatar Development Bank, organized a Qatari trade mission to the Sultanate of Oman, on the 21st and 22nd of this October, to explore promising investment opportunities in the Omani market.
This mission comes as a continuation of the bilateral cooperation, which reflects the vision of the two countries to raise the level of economic cooperation and expand the horizons of partnership between Qatari and Omani business institutions.
More than 40 Qatari exporting companies participated in the mission, as part of Qatar Exports’ efforts to enhance the Qatari presence in regional markets, representing various sectors that include building and construction materials, building technologies, plastic products, packaging materials, electrical products, infrastructure sector products, foodstuffs, consumer goods, health and medical products, home furniture, and perfumes. cosmetics, materials for the oil and gas sectors, and other sectors. This diversity enhances joint trade relations, reflecting the growing volume of opportunities for further cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
The mission’s program included organizing meetings in the presence of senior officials from both sides, in addition to signing agreements and holding bilateral meetings between Qatari companies and their Omani counterparts, in addition to field visits. The visit was also accompanied by the holding of an exhibition for Qatari companies that highlights their products and the services they provide.
Mr. Ali Sultan Al Kuwari, Senior Director of Export Development at Qatar Development Bank, said: “The trade mission to the Sultanate of Oman comes in conjunction with the study conducted by Qatar Exports of the Omani market, with the aim of discovering promising opportunities for Qatari exporters and enhancing their presence in the region.”
Trade relations between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman have witnessed significant momentum over the past two years, with the total volume of trade exchange between the two countries exceeding 6.3 billion riyals in 2024, with a growth rate of 17% compared to 2023.
Qatar’s total exports to the Sultanate of Oman amounted to 3 billion riyals, while Qatari private sector exports to the Sultanate of Oman amounted to 109 million riyals during 2024, with an annual growth rate of 4%. These exports include a wide and diverse range of products, such as aluminium, plastics, electrical equipment, chemicals, etc.
