The Qatari national team continued its preparations for the second confrontation against its Canadian counterpart in the second round of the second group competitions in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico until next July 19.
The Qatari national team will meet its Canadian counterpart at BC Place Vancouver next Friday at one o’clock in the morning Doha time, in a confrontation in which it seeks to enhance its chances of reaching the second round after tying with Switzerland by one goal in the first round at San Francisco Bay Arena.
The Qatar national team moved to the Canadian city of Vancouver, which will host its second match in the World Cup, where it is scheduled to hold its final training tomorrow at Clarney Park Stadium.
The final training session is preceded by a press conference for the match, in the presence of the Spanish Julen Lopetegui, coach of the Qatar national team, and the American Jesse Marsh, coach of the Canadian national team.
Before departing for Canada, the Qatari team had trained at its residence in the Santa Clara area, with the participation of all the players selected on the list. After the training, coach Lopetegui held a meeting with the players in which he stressed the importance of focusing during the second match after obtaining the first point in the history of participation in the World Cup after the draw with Switzerland in the first round. He also stressed the redoubling of efforts in the next match, which is important in the way of competing for a ticket to qualify for the second round.
Before the Qatari team left for Canada, the Qatari fans completed their arrival in Vancouver, arriving in several batches, with coordination from the Qatar Football Association.
The Qatari Federation announced the launch of the Qatari Fan Services Office in Vancouver with the aim of overcoming all difficulties related to transportation from the airport to the accommodation hotels, and also providing all requirements to ensure access to the match stadium and creating ideal conditions to support the national team.
