Yesterday, Qatar Tourism hosted the first meeting of the Forum for the Qatar Tourism Award for the first and second versions of the award, along with a group of leaders of the tourism sector and the most prominent leaders of Qatar Tourism, where the event provided a platform for cognitive discussions, exchange of experiences, and joint cooperation, as well as being an exclusive opportunity to communicate, build partnerships and promote innovation in the tourism sector. His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Ali Al -Kharji, President of Qatar for Tourism, said during his opening speech: “Through this forum, we open a field for the exchange of successful experiences, ideas and cooperation, with the aim of benefiting from the success stories presented by the winners of the Qatar Tourism Award, which reflects positively on the quality of tourism work, and contributes to building a more distinctive and competitive sector at the regional and international levels.”
Al -Kharji added: “We believe in Qatar for tourism that the appreciation does not stop at the boundaries of the prize, but rather extends to a continuous partnership, which enhances the opportunities for professional development, and contributes to the consolidation of the culture of excellence that we all aspire to consolidate in every corner of our tourism sector.”
Al -Kharji also called for attending to participate in the next version of the Qatar Tourism Award and to offer more initiatives and ideas for innovation in the sector that coincides with the aspirations of the advancement of tourism within the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Al -Kharji touched during his speech to the winners of the previous copies of the award, which reflects the volume of the effort made on their part to obtain appreciation and excellence in the service, noting that Qatar for tourism is the authority responsible for supporting and sponsoring the sector and overcoming the obstacles it faces in order to reach the desired goal by attracting more visitors and tourists, which in turn contributes to the recovery of the national economy and enhancing tourism contribution as one of the tributaries of this important vital sector.
The event also witnessed a discussion session moderated by Mr. Jassim Al -Mahmoud, Director of Public Relations and Communication Department at Visit QATAR. Engineer Ali Mohamed Al -Kuwari, CEO of Mashriib Real Estate and winning multiple awards during the previous two versions, participated in the session, which is the “Leading Tourism Facility Category in Sustainability” and the “iconic local attractions” award as well as the “Smart Solutions” award and the “Cultural Experience” award, Mrs. Nada Al -Sulaiti, the “Hirat” jewelry institution and winner of the “leading local brand” award, Mr. Saud, and Mr. Saud Al -Kuwari, winner of the title “Tourist Content Maker”, and Mr. Ammar Samad, General Manager of Zalal Hasan Resort, who won the “Exceptional Experience within the Category of Resorts” and “Exceptional Experience in the Category of Health Resorts” in both the first and second copies, and Mr. Shin Edstrom, CEO of “Plus Vandom”, who is winning within the category of “Touring Center experience The pioneer.
The discussion session dealt with multiple axes, most notably the concepts of leadership, sustainable innovation, the impact of professional estimate on stimulating development and institutional excellence, as well as a review of the experiences of participants in promoting Qatari identity, expanding the impact of digital tourism content, and upgrading the experience of residents and visitors. The speakers also discussed investment in winning the award to support institutional growth, and the session concluded with inspiring advice for applicants in the next version of the award.
Qatar has hosted this promising forum with the aim of enhancing the continuous cooperation between the award winners, supporting continuous development efforts, and celebrating excellence in the tourism and hospitality industry, in preparation for the third version of the Qatar Tourism Awards, which is scheduled to be held during the last quarter of this year.
