Qatar Central Bank crowns the banking and financial institutions championship

The Qatar Central Bank team crowned the seventh edition of the Banking and Football Championships, after its deserved victory over the Qatar International Bank of Qatar, QIIB, with a score of 2-0 in the final match, to embrace the cup for the third time in its history, and maintain its title for the second year in a row. The tournament was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, Governor of Qatar Central Bank, His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Thani, Deputy Governor, and organized by Qatar Central Bank in cooperation with the Football Association, Aspire Zone Academy, and Sports Cup channels, amid record participation of 28 teams from various banks and financial institutions within the state.
In the third and fourth place match, the Qatar Insurance Group team snatched third place and bronze medals after beating the Qatar Insurance Company team 2-1. The closing day witnessed the presence of Saleh Salman Al -Muhannadi, the championship director, and Dr. Abdul Basset Al -Shaibi, CEO of Qatar International Islamic Bank, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani, CEO of Qatar Central Deposit Company, His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al Thani, Director of Customer Protection Department at Qatar Central Bank, Ali Al Athbah, Director of Public Relations at Qatar Central Bank, Abdul Rahman Al Maliki, Director of Procurement at Qatar Central Bank, and Ali Hamad Al Marri, Director of Banking Supervision Department at Qatar Central Bank, Khaled Mubarak Al Kuwaari, Director of Marketing Department And contact with the Football Association, Ahmed Mohamed Al -Hassan, Executive Director of Utilities and Events at the Aspire Zone Foundation, Nasser bin Abdullah Al -Hajri, CEO of Marketing at the Aspire Foundation, and Hussein Al -Sharshani, the general supervisor of the championship team from the Federation.

Individual prizes
The coronation ceremony witnessed Mohamed Issa from Qatar Central Bank for the Best Coach Award, while Ahmed Ashour from Qatar Central Bank won the award for the best player, and his teammate Ahmed Al -Sayyad won the award for the best goalkeeper, and Abuchi Ebusa (Fish) won the player of the Qatar National Bank team QNB, the top scorer in the tournament with 14 goals, and while Hossam Jalal from the Qatar General Insurance Company won the Best Administrative Award.
For his part, Saleh Salman, the championship director, praised the success of the seventh edition at all levels, stressing the importance of the continuation of such events that enhance the sporting spirit in the financial sector, where he said: This year’s championship has witnessed a significant increase in the level of competition and organization, which reflects our continuous commitment to providing a stimulating sports environment for all employees in banks and financial institutions, we thank all partners and supporters for their efforts in the success of this tournament.
For his part, Mohamed Issa, the coach of the Qatar Central Bank team, expressed his happiness with this achievement, saying: We are proud to achieve the title for the third time in the history of the team, and the second in a row, the tournament this year was more competitive, but we were technically and physically ready, and the players proved that they are responsible.
