Eng. Khalid bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, Chairman of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, confirmed that the formation of real estate development dispute resolution committees confirms the state’s support and encouragement of the real estate sector.
In a statement, Eng. Khalid bin Ahmed Al Obaidli praised the issuance of the Cabinet’s decision regarding the formation of real estate development dispute resolution committees, saying: “Issuing this decision is a continuation of the legal framework for the committee to exercise its role in resolving all disputes arising from real estate development.”
The draft resolution comes in implementation of the provisions of Law No. (6) of 2014 regulating real estate development. This committee is responsible for urgently resolving all disputes arising from real estate development, in accordance with the provisions of this law.
It is worth noting that the Council of Ministers recently approved the project to form committees to resolve real estate development disputes, which confirms the State of Qatar’s support and encouragement of the real estate sector and encourages competitiveness and investment in order to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Dispute Resolution Committee is responsible for resolving, as a matter of urgency, all disputes arising from real estate development, and for the speedy resolution of pending applications, and for joint cooperation between the General Authority for Regulating the Real Estate Sector and the Supreme Judicial Council.
