Al-Rayyan continues its training in preparation for facing Kuwait’s Al-Qadisiyah 19 in the semi-finals of the Gulf Champions League, which is scheduled to be held at the Ahmed Bin Ali World Cup Stadium.
Al Rayyan, led by its new Spanish coach Moreno, seeks to pass Al-Qadisiyah and reach the final match, and meet the winner of the Iraqi Zakho and the Saudi Al-Shabab, who will also meet in Doha at the Khalifa World Cup Stadium on the 19th of this month, while the final match will be held on the 23rd of this month at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.
Al Rayyan qualified for the semi-finals after topping its group. The semi-finals were supposed to be held back and forth, and the system was changed to holding the final rounds in a single-round system in Doha due to the events that took place in the region.
Al Rayyan’s ranks appear complete, especially in the attack, led by Brazilian Roger Guedes, the team’s top scorer and the Stars League, Serbian Mitrovic and Islami Machado, in addition to Ahmed Alaa and Portuguese Thiago.
On the other hand, the Kuwaiti delegation from Al-Qadisiyah arrived in Doha yesterday evening to set up a training camp in preparation for facing Al-Rayyan.
The delegation includes 28 players in addition to foreign professionals, the most prominent of whom are the Algerians Sofiane Bouchard and Tayeb Meziani, the Senegalese Ablaye Mbingo, and the Congolese Neskens Kebano, under the supervision of the technical staff led by Nabil Maaloul and his assistant staff.
Al-Qadisiyah will miss a number of its experienced players, most notably captain Badr Al-Mutawa, midfielder Talal Al-Fadil, and defender Khaled Ibrahim, due to their commitments, while Bahraini professional Mahdi Humaidan is expected to join the mission upon its arrival in Doha.
