Al Sailiya tied with Qatar with two goals each, in the confrontation that brought them together today, at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in the sixth round of the Qatari Football League “Doha Bank Stars League”.

Niall Mason scored for Qatar Club in the 34th minute, Joao Pedro in the 52nd minute, while Younis Belhanda scored for Al Sailiya in the 82nd minute, and Joselu in the 90th + 5th minute.

Al Sailiya overcame five losses to score their first point this season and remain in last place, while Qatar raised their score to 3 points in eleventh place.

The match began with an offensive debate between the two sides in search of precedence, as Al Sailiya was the initiator after Spaniard Joselu penetrated into the area before shooting a powerful ball that was blocked by the goalkeeper in the 12th minute, before Qatar responded with a shot from Niall Mason that passed the post in the 15th minute.

Qatar continued its offensive pressure on Al Sailiya’s goal, winning a free kick executed by Saeed Ibrahimi on the head of Niall Mason, who diverted it to the right of the goalkeeper, giving his team the first goal in the 34th minute.

Al Sailiya retreated towards the back areas, while Qatar’s advantage continued in search of reinforcement, with Ibrahimi sending a cross from a corner that was met by Joao Pedro with a header that went past the post in the minute (45+1), after which the first half ended with Qatar leading with a clean goal.

Qatar dominated the course of the second half from the beginning with a great desire to strengthen its lead, and it got what it wanted after Jawar Pedro added the second goal from a free kick executed by a strong strike to the left of Al Sailiya’s goalkeeper in the 52nd minute.

Qatar resumed its attempts in light of a significant decline in the level of Al Sailiya’s performance, approaching the third goal after a cross inside the area from Saeed Ibrahimi, which was met by Ivorian Yohan Boly with a header that the goalkeeper blocked in the 75th minute.

Al Sailiya showed a strong reaction in the last minutes of the match in an effort to make an adjustment, winning a free kick executed by the Moroccan Younes Belhanda to the left of the goalkeeper, scoring the goal to reduce the difference in the 82nd minute, before the Spaniard Joselu snatched the equalizer after a ball bounced off the Qatari defense and diverted it into the net (90+5), after which the referee announced the end of the match.
