“Finance Test” magazine warned that some medications may threaten the safety and security of driving because they cause delayed reactions, which raises the risk of an accident.

The German magazine explained that these medications include pain relievers, for example opioids, including morphine, as well as migraine medications, hypnotics, and tranquilizers.

Psychological medications, such as antidepressants and antipsychotics, some eye drops, high blood pressure medications, and allergy and diabetes medications, may also pose a problem while driving.

Dizziness and drowsiness

To avoid the risk of accidents, one should not drive a car while taking these medications, especially when one feels dizzy, drowsy, and has poor concentration.

In general, anyone taking any medication should look at the package insert to see if the medication could adversely affect their ability to drive safely.

It should also be taken into account that the availability of a medicine without a prescription does not mean that it does not have side effects.
