In celebration of World Diabetes Day, which falls on November 14 of each year, QNB Group lit up the building of its main branch on the Corniche and its international branches in blue with the aim of drawing attention to the issue of diabetes and its seriousness, coinciding with the organization of this event in a number of the most famous buildings and landmarks around the world.

This initiative reflects the group’s keenness to raise awareness of diabetes within the framework of its annual programs to promote health education in the communities in which it operates through its international network as part of its strategy in the field of social responsibility, of which health and well-being is one of its pillars.
On this occasion, Ms. Heba Al Tamimi, Senior Executive Vice President of Communications Department at QNB Group, said: “We are committed to supporting the local communities in which we operate and improving the public health and well-being of community members, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the national strategy to combat diabetes in Qatar and in implementation of the goals of sustainable development. We are pleased to organize this initiative and join the efforts of the international community to shed light on this disease and spread a message of hope to all those afflicted with it in Qatar and around the world.”
World Diabetes Day was launched in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation in cooperation with the World Health Organization. November 14 of each year was chosen to commemorate Sir Frederick Pantage, who discovered insulin in 1922. The blue color was derived from the blue circle symbol of the diabetes logo, which symbolizes unity and solidarity.
