The Qatar Central Bank confirmed that the national payment card “Hamyan” comes within the framework of a digital transformation process that will begin in stages beginning in February 2025, with the aim of raising the level of security in completing government transactions in the State of Qatar.
The Central Bank stated in a statement that what was discussed regarding accepting payment operations with government agencies exclusively using the national card “Hamyan” aims to reduce the costs associated with payment operations, taking into account that the quality and conduct of services provided to citizens, residents, and any visitors to the State of Qatar are not affected.
