The Qatar Chess Federation announced yesterday the organization of the second edition of the Qatar Classical Chess Cup competitions, from September 7 to 13.
The Chess Federation, in a statement, indicated that the tournament will be held at the Qatar Training Center and dedicated to the men and women categories, as participation is limited only to Qatari players and Qatari.
At the head of the participants in the men’s category, the international professor Hussein Aziz, next to a group of players of the Qatari teams, who are Khaled Al -Jumaa, Irfan Muhammad, Ibrahim Al -Janahi, Fahd Al -Mansouri, Abdel Aziz Al -Mahasana, Turki Al -Kuwari, Muhammad Al -Qasabi, Hamad Al -Kuwari, Saif Ahmed.
In the women, a group of players, including the kindergarten of Lian Al -Qasabi, Fatima and Asma Al -Hammadi, Aisha and Ghada Al -Khulaifi, participate.
In a statement, Mr. Mohamed Al -Muddhaka, President of the Qatar Chess Federation, confirmed that the federation has made all arrangements to launch the second edition of the Qatar Cup, as the tournament, which is witnessing a great participation, aims to increase the popularity of chess sport between Qataris and Qatari, and create a competitive environment for the players.
Al -Madhahka pointed out that the federation desires through this tournament, which comes within the plans of the Federation, to expand the patch of selecting the best players to represent the Qatari chess in the upcoming entitlements.
The head of the Qatar Chess Federation stressed that the Federation’s Board of Directors approved during its meetings to include this tournament in the agenda of the Federation’s competitions annually, in order to enhance the base of the game and build a generation that supports national teams, as it will have the opportunity for all players and players to determine the reality of their level in order to double the focus rates in preparation for the next Arab and continental entitlements.
