Civil Aviation: 4 million passengers at Hamad Airport in June

The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the statistics of air transportation for the month of June 2025, as the number of passengers reached four million and 177 thousand passengers, compared to four million and 351 thousand passengers in the same month of 2024 to record a decline of 4 percent.
The movement of aircraft at Hamad International Airport also recorded 22379 movement during the month of June, a decrease of 3.8 percent on an annual basis, compared to 23255 air movement in June last year.
The authority also indicated a decrease in freight and mail in June 2025 by 3.5 percent, where it recorded 207,283 tons compared to 214,823 tons in June 2024.
The State of Qatar takes a prominent position in the air transport sector at the global level, and it has been able to achieve this thanks to its relentless efforts in signing and developing air transport agreements with various countries of the world. As the state so far has more than 180 bilateral agreements for air services among 193 member states of the International Civil Aviation Organization «ICAO), in addition to concluding the comprehensive agreement with the European Union, to be the first country in the Arab Gulf region to sign such an agreement, which also contributed to strengthening its position as a global flight center.
The bilateral and comprehensive agreements signed by the State of Qatar in the field of air transport are the cornerstone of strengthening its position as one of the most important airlines in the world. These efforts reflect Qatar’s ambitious vision to be a major player in the global aviation sector, by expanding its air network.
There is also great cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), where the State of Qatar is effectively participating in the specialized committees in the field of air transport in the organization, in order to ensure the view of the developments of this industry and participate in international decision -making. There is also cooperation with the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, where the State of Qatar participates effectively in the specialized committees in air transport in this organization with the aim of achieving the common interests of the Arab countries to preserve its leadership in the air transport industry.
