“Communications Organization” launches an advice on international telecommunications services

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority launched a public advice on “the reference offer to access international telecommunications services through marine cable fall stations” in the State of Qatar and relevant guidelines.
This consulting represents the second round of consultations, as it is based on the opinions of the parties concerned and their observations that were received through the initial advice on “the reference offer to reach international telecommunications services through the marine cable landing station.” Based on the observations and comments received, the authority has improved the draft reference supply and relevant guidelines in order to enhance competition and improve access to international telecommunications services through all marine cable fall stations.
The updated documents include minimal requirements for mandatory requirements for the reference show to access marine cable stations that the stations must be provided, in addition to the mechanism for preparing access agreements between the owners of the stations and other telecommunications service providers. The relevant guidance regulations were also modified and updated in order to improve them compared to the first general counseling document.
This consulting is part of the efforts of the continuous communications organization to enhance the organizational framework for the communications and information technology sector, with the aim of enhancing competition and growth in the market by improving access to international telecommunications services through all marine cable fall stations. This initiative reflects the commission’s commitment to enhance an organizational environment that supports competitiveness, transparency and efficiency in the telecommunications sector, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the digital agenda 2030.
