Some people suffer from dental sensitivity to cold .. What are the reasons? How can it be faced?
To answer this question, the German dentist Yoshn Schmidt said that the dental sensitivity to cold has several reasons, most notably the decline of the gums with age, as this makes the necks of the teeth exposed, which facilitates the access of heat stimuli to the dental nerve.
Other possible causes, such as thinning tooth enamel, is due to cavities, fillings leakage, crowding, or gingival ligament.
Treatment
Dental sensitivity to cold can be faced through the following important measures:
- Enjoy iced drinks in the form of small sips, as this teeth helps to better acclimate to low temperatures.
- Use a dedicated paste for sensitive teeth, as it contains certain salts that can reduce the sensitivity of teeth necks.
- There are different ways to treat sensitive teeth in the dentist’s clinic, for example by filling them with certain types of varnish.
- The teeth should be gently brushing to avoid exacerbation of the problem, given that pressure and rubbing strongly will lead to removing dental residue and displacing the gums, and it is useful to use the electric toothbrush, which issues a warning signal when pressing it severely.
