Occupied Jerusalem – Jerusalemite surgeon Diaa Zaghir is passionate about treating children, especially newborns, and says that a “thank you” from the parents of a child who has undergone successful surgery is the most important accolade he can receive.
Zaghir specializes in general surgery, pediatric surgery, and pediatric laparoscopic surgery, and currently works at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
The Jerusalemite surgeon says, in his interview with Al Jazeera Net, that he performs delicate operations on incomplete organs for children whose ages range from hours, days, and even years, to the point that he has become passionate about it because of the joy and happiness it brings to the children and their families.
He adds that his passion for medicine and treating children does not distract him from his love for his city and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and he does not imagine that anything will distance him from his profession or his city.
