His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Second Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, was re-elected as Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia for the West Asia region for the period from 2024 to 2028 during the 44th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia held today in New Delhi, India.
During the General Assembly, Mr. Raja Randhir Singh of India was elected President of the Olympic Council of Asia for a four-year term, as he was the only candidate for the presidency.
Mr. Timothy Fok of Hong Kong was elected Vice-President of the Council for East Asia, Dr. Norza Zakaria of Malaysia was elected Vice-President of the Council for Southeast Asia, Prince Jigyel Wangchuck of Bhutan was elected Vice-President of the Council for South Asia, and Mr. Otabek Umarov of Uzbekistan was elected Vice-President of the Council for Central Asia.
The General Assembly also witnessed the election of four members to the Executive Office: Ms. Mikako Kotani from Japan for East Asia, Dr. Supeter Samahito from Thailand for Southeast Asia, Ms. Olga Rybakova from Kazakhstan for Central Asia, and Noura Al Jasmi from the UAE for West Asia.
