Six players shared the top scorer award in the 17th edition of the UEFA Euro 2024, which was held in Germany from June 14 to July 14.
Spain’s Dani Olmo received the top scorer award after his country’s team won the title for the fourth time in its history, defeating England (2/1) in the final match yesterday (Sunday). Olmo scored three goals in Spain’s winning campaign, as he scored against Georgia, Germany and France in the knockout stages.
The official website of the European Football Association “UEFA” confirmed that the top scorer of Euro 2024 is shared by five other players who also scored 3 goals, as Olmo also tied with his opponent in the final match, the Englishman Harry Kane, and the Dutchman Cody Gakpo, who was eliminated from the competition in the semi-finals. The list also includes the German Jamal Musiala, whose country’s team was eliminated from the tournament in the quarter-finals after losing (1/2) to Spain, and the Georgian Giorgis Mikutadze, whose team was eliminated from the round of 16 after losing (1/4) to Spain as well. The Slovak player Ivan Schranz also scored three goals before his country’s team was eliminated from the round of 16 after losing (1/2) to England after extra time.
