Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, stressed that the GCC countries play a leading role in providing support and assistance to countries in need of healthcare, with a special focus on providing vaccines to combat epidemics and diseases, which embodies their joint and firm commitment to addressing global health challenges.
This came during the meeting of the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, today, with Dr. Sania Nishtar, CEO of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization.
During the meeting, a number of topics of common interest were discussed, most notably the efforts of the GCC countries in the fifth strategic plan of the GAVI Alliance for the years 2021-2025, in addition to reviewing topics related to epidemics and strengthening health systems.
Dr. Sania praised the exceptional efforts made by the GCC countries and their pivotal role in providing the necessary support and meeting the needs of countries around the world in the field of health care.
