Gold declines amid anticipation of US inflation data

Gold declined today after reaching its highest level in more than three months in the previous session, as investors awaited an important report on inflation in the United States to clarify the path of US interest rates.

Gold fell in spot transactions by 0.6 percent to $4,626.79 per ounce, after prices rose yesterday, Tuesday, to the highest level since mid-May.

US gold futures fell 0.2 percent to $4,683.60.

As for other precious metals, silver rose in spot transactions 0.2 percent to $68.75, platinum increased 0.3 percent to $1,863.58, and palladium rose 0.7 percent to $1,335.54.
