Hamad International Airport affirmed its commitment to providing a smooth travel experience for everyone during the expected peak travel period coinciding with the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday and summer vacation, and the accompanying increase in the number of travelers.
The airport stated in a statement that it is expected that the increase in the number of departing passengers will begin starting next Thursday, and this will continue until the end of the weekend, while the return movement will begin during the following weekend, which begins on June 20.
As part of Hamad International Airport’s keenness to manage this busy season with the highest levels of operational efficiency, it has developed, in coordination with all its partners, comprehensive and expanded plans to provide a smooth and easy travel experience by providing a set of tips, the most important of which are: the necessity of registering for flights before arriving at the airport, in order to reduce waiting times at the desks. Registration for flights, in addition to arriving early, four hours before departure time, so that they have sufficient time to complete the check-in procedures, security screening, and board the plane.
The airport also recommended using self-service desks for check-in and baggage delivery, as Qatar Airways passengers can benefit from the self-service provided by the airport for check-in and baggage delivery, which allows passengers to self-check-in, print boarding passes and baggage tags, and place a sticker on their luggage before delivering it to the airport. Baggage drop area. These options speed up check-in procedures and thus reduce waiting times.
The airport also urges citizens and residents over the age of 18 to use the airport’s electronic gate service to complete travel procedures faster. This service contributes to facilitating passport procedures, allowing faster entry into the departure area.
The airport also noted that check-in will stop 60 minutes before departure time, while boarding gates will close 20 minutes before departure time. Therefore, travelers must take these timings into account while completing the check-in and boarding procedures.
All passengers must adhere to the permitted baggage allowances and weight restrictions specified by their airlines. It is recommended that you adhere to the specified weight and size requirements to avoid additional fees or delays during the check-in process.
The airport advised to stick to the standard baggage options to ensure a hassle-free travel experience.
As for landing and receiving passengers, the airport advises using short-term parking lots for landing and receiving passengers. Public transportation options can also be used when convenient to travel to and from the airport.
