Hamad Port received the ship “M/V MIN JIANG KOU” for the first time, after its arrival from Shanghai, China, carrying 1,414 units of roll-on/roll-off cargo, including cars and equipment.
This ship, which is about 200 meters long and 38 meters wide, and has a capacity of 7,700 parking spaces, is the beginning of COSCO’s direct shipping trips to the State of Qatar, which will boost the country’s car market.
In turn, QTerminals, the leading company in operating and managing ports and terminals, which carries out the operational operations at Hamad Port, presented a commemorative shield to the crew of the ship flying the Marshall Islands flag on the occasion of its first visit to the port.
QTerminals recorded the highest number of Ro-Ro cargo units handled at Hamad Port during the month of July, by handling 8,746 Ro-Ro cargo units (vehicles and equipment), in addition to 3,446 units during transshipment movements. This increase indicates the growth and prosperity of the automotive market in the State of Qatar, and the company’s continued commitment to excellence in port operations.
Since its launch in 2016, Hamad Port has evolved into a vital hub for international shipping services, catering to the needs of all major global shipping lines. QTerminals’ state-of-the-art facilities and exceptional services at Hamad Port have also contributed to gaining the trust of global shipping companies, which has contributed to achieving this great achievement.
QTerminals Group’s portfolio includes four business units: Hamad Port in Qatar, the flagship port of QTerminals Group; QTerminals Antalya Port in Turkey; QTerminals Kramer Rotterdam Port in the Netherlands; and QTerminals Olvia Port in Ukraine.
