The Arid Group has entered into a partnership with “NVIDIA”, with the aim of advancing artificial intelligence in the Middle East and North Africa region, using “NVIDIA” advanced computing platform.
Under this contract, the group will become an NVIDIA Cloud Partner and a provider of digital infrastructure in the region.
It will develop a platform ready to integrate artificial intelligence and enhanced with a full set of “NVIDIA” innovations, in all systems, software and services, and benefit from the huge market demand for accelerated computing and hyper-connectivity in all regions of the group’s operations in the Middle East and North Africa.
The platform will provide a valuable resource and support governments, institutions and startups to be able to securely process private data sets and obtain meaningful information that supports the innovations of its users.
The partnership contract was signed during the DTW24 conference, hosted by TMForum in Copenhagen, in the presence of Aziz Al Othman Fakhro, CEO of Arid Group, and Ronnie Vasishta, Executive Vice President of Communications at NVIDIA.
Following the signing, Aziz Al Othman Fakhro, CEO of the group, said: “Urade” will be able, through the use of NVIDIA’s integrated platform for accelerated computing and generative artificial intelligence, to occupy an advanced position at the forefront of the artificial intelligence revolution in the region, and to advance the wheel of innovation and digital transformation as a provider of digital infrastructure.
He added, by working with NVIDIA, we aim to meet the growing demand for accelerated computing infrastructure in order to support advanced artificial intelligence models, and to transform sectors through the next generation of artificial intelligence and graphics processing unit services.
For his part, Executive Vice President of Communications at NVIDIA said: “As a trusted regional communications services provider, Arid combines deep relationships between enterprises and consumers on the one hand with the ability to invest in infrastructure and artificial intelligence services and deploy them on the other hand.”
He noted that by offering the full suite of NVIDIA’s AI-enhanced computing platform, the group will make it easier for customers to deploy generative AI applications and services.
Through this cooperation, governments, companies, and startups in the State of Qatar, Algeria, Tunisia, Oman, Kuwait, and the Maldives can obtain the integrated package for the artificial intelligence platform provided by NVIDIA.
Arid plans to deploy thousands of NVIDIA Tensor Core graphics processing units in data centers enhanced with artificial intelligence to support the region, and enable customers to benefit from the advanced artificial intelligence platform, including infrastructure, tools and software, in addition to improving operations and driving operational efficiency in multiple sectors.
Customers will benefit from GPU-as-a-Service that provides on-demand access to artificial intelligence and machine learning tools, including today’s transformative technology, generative artificial intelligence.
This cooperation is part of the group’s goal to enhance artificial intelligence infrastructure in the Middle East and North Africa, while improving security levels, providing optimal performance, and enhancing customization in accordance with local standards.
As a result, the countries in which “Areed” operates will be able to create local clouds, facilitate the deployment of local artificial intelligence systems and applications, and enhance data security standards.
The group will be able to provide graphics processing units as a service (GPU-as-a-service), providing customers with the flexibility to integrate accelerated computing into their cloud solutions, or host it directly on-premises. This ensures that customers receive the most efficient and tailored AI processing capabilities they can benefit from.
This partnership is expected to contribute to achieving economic growth, creating job opportunities, and disseminating technical innovations throughout the region by empowering customers and supporting them with an advanced cloud platform enhanced by artificial intelligence. “Areed” will work to implement it in cooperation with stakeholders in each country in order to ensure compatibility with local requirements and maximize the benefits of artificial intelligence initiatives, with the aim of enhancing the implementation of the goals of sovereign artificial intelligence.
