Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Sada, President of Al-Shamal Club, confirmed that the team’s participation in the AFC Elite Champions League represents a great pride and honor for the club, noting that everyone within the team realizes the magnitude of the responsibility placed on its shoulders, especially since Al-Shamal is competing in this tournament for the first time in its history.
The president of Al-Shamal Club said in statements to Al-Arab: “This is the first time we are participating in the AFC Champions League for the elite, and it is a very important experience for us. We are confident that the players are up to the responsibility and are capable of representing Qatar and Al-Shamal Club in a way that befits them. Participating in this tournament is a great pride and honor for any club, and we are very happy for Al-Shamal to be present in this continental forum.”
He added: “This participation gives us motivation to continue working according to the plans and strategy that we have set for the club in the coming period, and we hope that this step will be the beginning of further development and successes. Al-Shamal’s entry into elite competitions for the first time is something we are very proud of, and we want to make the most of this experience.”
The president of Al-Shamal Club praised the team’s progress over the past period, saying: “The players are up to the responsibility, and we trust in their ability to perform well against a big team.” Al-Shamal has gained a good reputation among Qatari teams, and has also begun to gain appreciation externally, and this is thanks to the work done by everyone inside the club, including management, technical staff and players.”
He continued: “We hope to live up to the expectations of the North fans and all the club’s fans, as well as the officials and management, and to present a level that reflects the development that the team has witnessed during the past period.”
Regarding the public attendance, Al-Sada confirmed that the fans of the North are thirsty to support the team on this historic occasion, and he said: “The public is thirsty to be behind the team, and we are waiting for their support and assistance.”
Regarding the goal of the match, he explained: “With regard to the result, we must first provide a good performance, and I always believe that a good performance will bring the result. Ittihad Jeddah is a large and well-known team in Saudi Arabia, and we respect it a lot, but at the same time we are up to the responsibility, and we have confidence in our players.”
Al-Sada concluded his speech by saying: The players promised me that they would give everything they had on the field and that they would fight for the North until the end.

The Al-Shamal team will raise the slogan of challenge when it meets with the Saudi Jeddah Federation tomorrow in the first round of the elite AFC Champions League competitions, in a historic confrontation that the club’s fans await with great passion, and which will be held at the Al-Bayt World Cup Stadium, amid an enthusiastic atmosphere and great anticipation on the part of the club family.
Qalaat Al-Shamal is in a state of high morale before the expected confrontation, and the team trained yesterday at Al-Oqla Stadium, where the technical staff worked to prepare the players from both the physical and technical aspects, with a greater focus on the tactical aspects and the plan that the team will rely on during the match. The technical staff was keen to raise the degree of concentration among the players, especially since the confrontation requires the highest levels of discipline, calm and concentration throughout its minutes.
Al-Shamal will perform its final training today at Al-Bayt Stadium, which is hosting the match, in order to put the final touches on the lineup and technical plan, in addition to giving the players an opportunity to get acquainted with the field and the atmosphere of the confrontation before the starting whistle.
