In its weekly meeting last Wednesday, the Kuwaiti Council of Ministers welcomed their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the delegations accompanying the summit’s work, expressing its aspiration for more optimism regarding the decisions that the summit will result in that will advance the blessed process of the Council and realize the hopes and aspirations of the peoples of the GCC countries.
In the context of preparation for the forty-fifth Gulf Summit, the 162nd Ministerial Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council was held in Kuwait the day before yesterday, headed by Abdullah Al-Yahya, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister and Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council, and in the presence of the foreign ministers of the GCC countries, where reports were reviewed related to following up on the implementation of the decisions of the forty-fourth summit that was held. Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, stressed the importance of the meeting as part of efforts to strengthen joint Gulf cooperation and ongoing preparations to ensure the success of the upcoming summit.
For his part, Al-Yahya, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council will discuss many important topics, especially political and economic ones, noting that the session’s agenda includes strategic partnerships and cybersecurity, in addition to Discussing the completion of electrical and railway connections between the GCC countries.
In a statement on the occasion of the summit, His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the State of Kuwait, stressed that the hosting of this major Gulf event by the sister State of Kuwait reflects the importance of the deep-rooted and historical relations between the GCC countries that seek unity of purpose and common destiny, and work to enhance the process of Cooperation, and accelerating the wheel of progress and development at all levels, in order to achieve the aspirations of the leaders and peoples of the Gulf states, considering that the most prominent challenges facing the Gulf Cooperation Council system at the present time are the challenges Geopolitics in the Middle East region, especially since the GCC countries are keen to achieve security and stability in the region, and work to immediately stop the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in order to establish the foundations of security and peace in this region, as well as work to stop the escalation between the Israeli entity and Iran. So that its effects do not extend to the countries of the region.
