The Iraqi national team continued its training in Doha, in preparation for facing the Omani and Kuwaiti national teams (5/9, 10/9) respectively, in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Yesterday’s training, which was hosted by Qatar University and attended by the head of the Iraqi delegation, Younis Mahmoud, the second vice president of the federation and member of the federation, Ahmed Al-Moussawi, took place at a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, with a humidity rate ranging between 50-57% during the training session.
Today’s training was attended by (21) players: Jalal Hassan, Ali Kazim, Hussein Hassan, Mohammed Qasim, Ahmed Yahya, Mohammed Al-Taie, Saad Natiq, Bashang Abdullah, Zaid Tahseen, Hiran Ahmed, Osama Rashid, Ahmed Makkenzi, Safaa Hadi, Mustafa Saadoun, Muhannad Ali, Rebin Sulaqa, Hassan Abdul Karim, Louay Al-Ani, Amjad Atwan, Manaf Younis, and Akam Hashem.
On the other hand, the Iraqi national team coach, Casas, requested to hold a friendly training match with one of the second division clubs in Qatar, and it is hoped that the date will be set in the coming days before the end of the current camp.
Iraqi national team player Mohammed Al-Taie, who participated in yesterday’s training after arriving at dawn from Australia, said: The preparations are good, and everyone is focused on the next two matches, and every player has the same goal, which is to reach the World Cup and make the Iraqi fans proud of that.
