Visit Qatar and the Professional Triathlon Organization (PTO) announced that Lusail City will host the final of the T100 World Triathlon Championship in Qatar in 2026 for the second year in a row, following the great success and wide public interaction achieved by the inaugural edition of the championship in Qatar last year.
This multi-day sports festival, which tests endurance capabilities, will be held from December 10 to 12, 2026, bringing together an elite group of professional athletes, amateurs, and community members in a program full of diverse races designed to suit all ages and fitness levels. The event will include the T100 Open race, a Sprint Triathlon race, the T100 Age Group World Championships, in addition to 1 km and 5 km community running races.
This event comes as part of the 2026 T100 Triathlon World Tour, which witnesses an elite group of the world’s most prominent triathlon professionals competing across a series of prominent global destinations, starting in March and ending with the final leg of the season, which will culminate in the T100 Triathlon World Championship in Qatar during the month of December.
Competitors will take on the professional triathlon organization’s signature T100 race course, which begins with a two-kilometre swim in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, followed by an 80-kilometre bicycle race through the streets of the iconic city of Lusail, concluding with an 18-kilometre running race through Lusail’s field and trail.
The tournament weekend activities will also include an integrated interactive village offering a range of family entertainment shows and events for the public, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere for the participants and their fans.
As the final leg of the T100 World Triathlon Tour, this event reflects Visit Qatar’s ongoing commitment to positioning Qatar as a leading global destination for sports tourism and experience-based travel. The tournament also highlights the country’s world-class infrastructure, its year-round calendar of events, as well as its diverse entertainment and lifestyle offerings, which continue to attract visitors from all over the world.
