The General Assembly of Al-Shahaniya Sports Club elected Mr. Manahi Al-Shammari as President of the Club, and Mr. Salem Al-Hajri as Vice President for the session (2024 – 2028), by acclamation, in light of the absence of any candidate for the positions of President and Vice President.
This came during the club’s general assembly meeting held this evening, after the legal quorum was completed, in the presence of the founding members, working members, and representatives of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, where the election of the president and his deputy was approved.
Manahi Al Shammari said that the next season of the Qatar Football League (Ooredoo Stars League) will witness strong competition between all teams, which requires doubling efforts in order to achieve the desired goals.
He added that the club succeeded in contracting with the Dutch duo Sven van Beek and Billy van Amersfoort, while keeping the trio Al Hassan Koroma, Francisco Antonucci and Mark Martinez, in order to maintain the stability of the team, in addition to renewing confidence in the Spanish coach Alvaro Mejia, who led Al Shahaniya to the Premier League again.
He pointed out that Al-Shahaniya will not be an easy competitor in the Qatar Football League (Ooredoo Stars League) thanks to its previous experience in the tournament, where it succeeded in presenting great levels.
Al-Shammari called on the players and the technical staff to do their best to appear at the required level, stressing his confidence in the technical staff and all the players.
It is noteworthy that Al-Shahaniya won the Second Division League Championship last season, to advance to the First Division, after defeating Al-Markhiya by three goals to one in the play-off match.
