Mr. Manahi Al Shammari’s list was re-elected as Chairman of Al Shahaniya Sports Club and Mr. Salem Al Hajri as Vice Chairman by acclamation for the next four years, during the regular general assembly meeting held yesterday at the club’s headquarters after the legal quorum was met with the attendance of the members of the general assembly.
The General Assembly members praised the achievement made by the football team in returning to the Ooredoo Stars League, and the General Assembly members renewed their confidence in the club’s management to achieve the desired goal in the new season, which is to remain in the Ooredoo Stars League.
For his part, Mr. Manahi Al Shammari, Chairman of Al Shahaniya Club, thanked the members of the General Assembly for renewing their confidence in the management, stressing that the management will continue its work on an ongoing basis in order to achieve the desired goal, and provide all support to the football team during its participation in the Ooredoo Stars League this season in order to remain in the league and provide a level befitting Al Shahaniya Club.
Al Shammari pointed out that the management succeeded in contracting with the Dutch duo Sven van Beek and Billy van Amersfoort, in addition to keeping the trio Al Hassan Koroma, Francisco Antonucci and Mark Martinez, in order to maintain the stability of the team, in addition to renewing confidence in the Spanish coach Alvaro Mejia, who led Al Shahaniya to the Premier League again.
In the same context, Mr. Faisal Al Shammari, the club’s general manager, said that Al Shahaniya Club will work hard to continue in the Ooredoo Stars League and gain the trust of the members of the General Assembly and the fans, stressing that he trusts the players and the technical staff to achieve this goal.
He pointed out that Al-Shahaniya will not be an easy opponent for all teams in the Ooredoo Stars League, and that the team is capable of playing big matches.
