Oil prices rose again today, amid political uncertainty in the United States and the Middle East, which dispelled some of the pressure from a stronger dollar and weak demand in China.
Brent crude futures rose 15 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $85.18 a barrel after closing down 37 cents on Friday. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was at $82.41 a barrel, up 20 cents, or 0.2 percent.
Oil prices offset the impact of the dollar, which rose after a failed assassination attempt on US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Last week, Brent crude fell more than 1.7 percent after four weeks of gains, while West Texas Intermediate futures fell 1.1 percent.
